In the heart of Green Country, bordering the valleys of the Vézère, the Madrange and Rujoux, Chamboulive combines the calm and gentle environment bucolic charm of a city steeped in history. Many monuments and art objects testify.
The Church of St. Cosmas and St. Damian, historical monument: apse and transept are Romanesque bell tower, nave, steeple, porch and north aisle dates from the 14th and 15th century. Prominently, as it forms one side of the square and has the apse on the main road, this 12th century church is not without character, especially its bell tower. By pushing the door of this place, you will find many statues of stone or wood (Historical Monument Objects) with statues of St. Lawrence and St. Antoine (painted plaster).
The chapel of the Puy Saint-Damien and his viewpoint: the Puy Saint Damien, to 473 m above sea level, dominates the area around the town and offers a panoramic view of the Monédières and north to Mount Gargan. The chapel, built between 1860 and 1862 is neo-Gothic style and has a carved wooden altar.
Anam Tornar sejar pack lo sting - We will, again, mowing with a scythe: the Ascension Day on the slopes of the Puy-Grand, the roar of agricultural machines or lawnmowers, to be replaced for a time by the much less aggressive hiss accompanying the scythe of the reaper majestic gesture. The contest, which is probably the only of its kind in the entire South-West and attracts every year more and more participants and spectators, starts at ten thirty and registrations are on site. It is recommended to come with a scythe well battered the whetstone in the "codiero" horn filled with water, flannel belt around his waist. Also provide a large straw hat. Beginners are advised to put on authentic wooden clogs to protect their toes eventually. Everyone is judged on the smoothness of the cutting and disposal of windrows. Jean Pouget, Deputy Mayor Chamboulive who spent much of his working life, a scythe in hand, along the roads, at a time when the aisles were meticulously maintained, chairs the jury. The competition results are announced at noon during the aperitif offered by the organizers.
