Chamboulive occupies a plateau cut by streams and bordered to the northwest by the Vézère.

The municipality covers 4679 ha with a maximum altitude of 529 m to Grand Puy-while on the church square, it is 430 m.

Things to see and do

The Church of St. Cosmas and St. Damian, historical monument: apse and transept are Romanesque bell tower, nave, steeple, porch and north aisle dates from the 14th and 15th century. Prominently, as it forms one side of the square and has the apse on the main road, this 12th century church is not without character, especially its bell tower. By pushing the door of this place, you will find many statues of stone or wood (Historical Monument Objects) with statues of St. Lawrence and St. Antoine (painted plaster).

The chapel of the Puy Saint-Damien and his viewpoint: the Puy Saint Damien, to 473 m above sea level, dominates the area around the town and offers a panoramic view of the Monédières and north to Mount Gargan. The chapel, built between 1860 and 1862 is neo-Gothic style and has a carved wooden altar.

Events and festivities

Anam Tornar sejar pack lo sting - We will, again, mowing with a scythe: the Ascension Day on the slopes of the Puy-Grand, the roar of agricultural machines or lawnmowers, to be replaced for a time by the much less aggressive hiss accompanying the scythe of the reaper majestic gesture. The contest, which is probably the only of its kind in the entire South-West and attracts every year more and more participants and spectators, starts at ten thirty and registrations are on site. The competition results are announced at noon during the aperitif offered by the organizers.

The second weekend of July: Annual festival: two days of entertainment and stuff in the village of Chamboulive: attic and books in the festival, farmers market countries with tasting products purchased on the spot (barbecue ..). Face painting, hiking, laborers firefighters parade, meal.

July 14: Hiking the tourtous (walking and cycling). Nightlife. Exhibition on the history of Gilles, funfair, refreshment areas and barbecues, all weekend ...
